Valentine’s Day SALE!

That’s right! From now through the 14th, we are running a special Valentine’s Day Sale. :) Simply put, if you buy X number of any item, you will save that many dollars! If you buy two stretch bracelets, you save two dollars. If you get three cel phone charms, you save three dollars, and so on.

This sale will run both on-line and in-person at the I Made It! Mine event we will be attending on February 6th. If you buy on-line, I will refund you the sale amount, and if you stop by at the show, well – I think my math skills can handle it. ;)

Hope to see you there, and enjoy the sale! :D

NEW Glow-in-the-Dark Rings!

Yep, I finally got my hands on some! I didn’t get much because I wanted to test them out and see how well they worked, and as such I only grabbed three colors. This is what I have.

glow-in-the-dark rubber rings

Pale blue, neon green, and soft white rings

White, green and blue. They’re my favorite colors out of the ones available, and aside from black, they’re the most popular colors in the non-glowy color spectrum as well. I made myself a bracelet to wear about and so far, I like them. They’re nice to work with, they have a nice texture, they’re not at all “sticky” like some rubber rings can be, and they’ve got fun, neon-like colors in regular light.

rings in the dark

The rings as they appear in the dark

Although I have to say, I’m a bit disappointed at how low the glow is on the green rings. At least they glow a bit, and they’re a fun shade of green when in the light. But they are pretty dark in comparison to the other colors, so maybe that’s why. They’re brighter than the picture shows, but it’s kind of hard to get a proper white balance on the camera in the dark. And the white looks more white, and the blue more blue in person. Glow-in-the-dark stuff is REALLY hard to photograph, by the way.

A black and blue glowing bracelet

My Test Bracelet

I’m going to make some bracelets for the I Made It! Mine on Feb 6th (that’s next weekend!). Whatever is left from that will go in my shop, and if you guys like them, I’ll get more in my next supply order. ^_^ Once I’ve got a fair amount I’ll make listings for them in the Custom Maille section of my Etsy Shop.

Speaking of that, I now have black rubber rings back in stock! FINALLY! ^_^ So if you’ve been waiting to order a custom stretchy bracelet, now’s the time to do it.

And because I’ve had a pile of e-mails, Etsy notes, and instant messages about that spot on my right hand, I had it checked out. Luckily, it’s nothing bad. ^_^ It’s a kind of mark called a “blue nevus” and it’s toally benign. Still, better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for your concern, everyone!

See you on the 6th!

Winter Time!

Happy Winter, everyone!

Now that I have a keyboard that works, I can post. ^_^ Huzzah!

I have been busy making some Christmas commissions, and in general preparing for the holidays. The shop will be closed for two weeks starting Dec 20th and will open again on January 3rd.

Here’s hoping that all of you have a warm, safe, and fun-filled time. ^_^

Later,
Bran

No Wild Rose Ren Faire This Year

Sadly, we are NOT going to be able to make the Wild Rose Renaissance Faire this year. :( We had been looking forward to it since April, but we’re just not able to do it for a variety of reasons. The main reason is that I haven’t been able to restock since the Little One arrived, and I think it would look unprofessional to show up at the Faire with a single table’s worth of appropriate items. Not even a maille coif! I couldn’t call myself a mailler.

Not to mention that our white pop-up tent wouldn’t look that good, either. :/ I want a Panther Tent.

But that don’t mean you shouldn’t go! We’re disappointed mainly because we know we’re missing out on three weekends of fun and good food (Trust me, I’d go for the food ALONE). The Wild Rose Renaissance Faire runs the first three weekends of October, with themed weekends delivering fun for everyone, with only $5 admission! Visit the Wild Rose website for all the details. I’ll try to get in next year, so if you plan on going back in 2010, check here and see if we’re going.

That said, right now I’m concentrating on getting ALL of my current chainmaille items into our Etsy shop. I may not have had time lately to make a full coif, but I DO have time to snap photos here and there. :) I’ll put the newest things in the “Featured” box in the corner, so check back if you’re curious. I have yet to photograph pocket watch chains, chokers, keychains, and some other things that I had previously offered only at in-person shows. Ooo, the mystery!

And in case anyone is wondering, I will not be able to make any large costume commissions in time for Halloween. But if you need something smaller, like a chain or a handflower, or even a simple headdress… That I can do. ^_^

Etsy Showcase – Geekery Debut

Not only do I have a spot in today’s Geekery Showcase, I’m using it to debut an item on-line that previously I’ve only had available at in-person events. I present to you~~ *cue drumroll*

Maille-Wrapped D20s!

RPG gamers, take notice!

RPG gamers, take notice!

The dice are securely wrapped in co-ordinating aluminum, but if you needed a D20 STAT you could conceivably get them out of their little maille cages. Perhaps if you had a multi-tool in your pocket to prise the rings open. Okay, so it wouldn’t be easy, but the potential for use is there. ^_^

As for the Geekery Showcase, there are other fun items there, including my personal favorite: an entertaining (and useful!) zombie identification poster. So if you or a special someone is of the geeky persuasion, go to the Etsy Showcase Area and see what Etsy’s got to offer! The link takes you to the Main Showcase. There is a little drop-down menu in the upper right corner. Click on the arrow and find “Geekery” in the list. Once you click, the page will re-load with today’s Geekery Showcase items. The Showcase spots change daily for the most part, so it’s the best way to “window shop” the categories if you don’t feel like wading through a bunch of search results.

Enjoy browsing!
