Shutterbug Fever & Sneak Peek

I have been taking pictures like mad! :D It’s actually a lot more fun now that I’m using different-colored backgrounds and adding props. Although I totally failed my spot check when I started out on my little photography adventure. I was wondering what I could use as props. I wanted to use something that gave people a bit of an insight about me, but something numerous so I could keep a sense of unity in the images without always using the same thing. I was wandering around the house and thinking, “Hmmm… What do I have a lot of that I can use as a prop? I wonder…”

I was in our living room, standing in front of our huge pair of bookcases. There’s another one on the other side of the room, and several more in the rest of the house, all pretty much so full we have to stack books on their sides on top of the ones already on the shelf.

Yeah, I’d say I rolled a 1. I was actually putting stray reading material away on the shelf when the lightbulb went off. I felt clever for thinking of using some of my beloved book collection, but oh WOW did I feel dumb an instant later. *headdesk*

But the photos are going well! I’m in a camera-happy mood and decided to take a picture of one of the things I’m currently working on. So you guys get a sneak peek from the workbench!

What do you think? The rings are bronze and stainless steel. I’m loving how they look together. All I need is to finish it and find a proper clasp that won’t detract from the weave. It reminds me of a really fancy watch band or something like that.

You can see that I tend to work out of lids from various food containers. Yeah… Not terribly fancy, but they hold the rings really well and are easy to transport if I feel like working somewhere else. I like the plastic lids the most because they’re flexible. I can just bend them and pour the rings into whatever container they’re from and not worry too much about spilling them. Ring spills take FOREVER to clean up.
