1. Care to tell us a bit about yourself?
Well, I’m currently 23 years old, and for as long as I can remember I have loved jewelry. I do like wearing it, but what I really love is making it. I took a jewelry smithing class in high school, where I learned to solder and forge and cast and all kinds of fun things, but I am unable to do that now because of a severe lack of not enough money for tools and supplies. I was accepted to the Savannah College of Art and Design as a jewelry smithing major, but I could not afford the school and so I got my degree in theatre, with my focus being makeup and costume.

2.What media/materials do you work in? Do you have a favorite?
I love to work in any metal, and my current favorites are bronze and enameled copper. If I got a commission for silver, I would first drool over the rings, then tumble them clean to get my saliva off, then weave them

3. Can you tell us a bit about what inspires you or about your creative process?
Well, what I usually end up doing is I sit and look at the rings. I think “what weave will these look good in” then I start to weave. from there it basically tells me if it is going to be a necklace, a bracelet, earrings, etc. like with my red 3 strand necklace, I just started making byzantine, and it took off from there!

6. Do you have any “plans” for your art? New techniques or materials you’d like to try, things you want to work on, etc.?
I would love to work in silver, and titanium. I like making small things, but I would love getting back into traditional silver smithing.

Bonus Question! 8. Tell us your three favorite smells, with your favorite first.
My gram’s kitchen.
She passed away in 2003, and I miss her like crazy every day. Her kitchen smelled like wood fires (she had a wood victorian cook stove in the kitchen for heat), roasting meat (she always had something roasting!) and her pantry- which was every spice she ever used- the wood absorbed the smells!
Roses
My entire life my mom has worn rose perfume, and now that I have moved 8 hours away from home, it’s nice that the store I work at (The Body Shop) has a new perfume- It’s called moroccan rose and it smells just like my mom.
Herbal Mixture Scents
Again, reminds me of my gram, because the downstairs bathroom was loaded with naturally scented lotions and creams and soaps and such. Gram came from a high class family in connecticut and was the family black sheep when she up and married a native american man in the 40′s! She was a nurse and enjoyed natural remedies and such.
