Saturday Showcase |

Saturday Showcase #2 – Lehsa

Today we are looking at Lehsa of Blue Girl Graphics.

1. Care to tell us a bit about yourself?
I hate using my real name so call me Lehsa. :D I’m Texas born and I’ve always liked art. I think I learned alot just from watching my older brother. My family in general on both sides is full of artisians of many sorts.

2.What media/materials do you work in? Do you have a favorite?
I think I found my medium when I first bought a UK import magazine with a program called “Expression” for free in it. I’m still using that program and it’s been a good 10 yrs and going. The program is from Asia so it’s easy to use for drawing Digital sumi-e and other Asian inspired works. It’s also a vector program so I can do quite a bit of different styles in it. I’d say I use it for 95% of all my artwork and do much of my touchups in Photoshop.

3. Can you tell us a bit about what inspires you or about your creative process?
I pretty much just draw. I keep drawing till it turns into something I can work with. Once in a while I actually have an idea what I want to do and will just work at it till I get it or it turns into something equally interesting. I tend to be pretty random.

4. Do you sell your art? If so, where can we get it?
Well I sell on Deviantart and you can check out a listing of other places here.

5. I know it’s hard to choose, but can you show us your three favorite pieces?

6. Do you have any “plans” for your art? New techniques or materials you’d like to try, things you want to work on, etc.?
I did buy some acrylics but I haven’t used them yet. I’m thinking of using them to try my hand at traditional painting. I haven’t done any “real” painting in a long time. I also have some pastels I recently bought and have been trying to find time to use. Maybe once I get my apt cleaned up I can have a spot to do more traditional works. I used to be really good with pastels. :D

7. Anything else for all the people out in Internet Land?
Just come and visit my sites and let me know what you like and what you’d like to see more of. :D

9. What book/comic/movie do you fit in best?
I always liked “The mirror of her dreams” by Stephen Donaldson. I always wanted to be in that book. I think I read it like 20 times too and it’s a LONG book. :D I think I could play the main heroine.

Thanks to Lehsa :) Go and give her some love!
